Amazing new robotic toy delivers sophisticated robot and artificial intelligence technology
Seattle WA (ASCENDPR) November 16, 2007 -- TableAndHome.com (www.TableAndHome.com) today announced it would accept pre orders for Ugobe's Pleo Dinosaur - A Ugobe Life Form. Pleo is a robotic marvel that moves realistically, autonomously explores its surroundings and can respond to the world around it. Pleo is a 'designer species', incorporating all the basic traits of autonomous life specifically engineered and enhanced to mimic life and relate to his owner on a personal level.
Can a long-extinct species be brought to life? UGOBE designers and engineers studied the long extinct Camarasaurus, a dinosaur from the Jurassic period to develop Pleo. Pleo is equipped with senses for sight, sound, and touch enabling it to learn as it explores its environment. Pleo will exhibit genuine reactions to sensory stimuli, such as yawn, sigh, sniff, sniffle, snore, cough, hiccup, and sneeze. Two or more Pleo's will recognize one another. When Pleo is tired, it will become drowsy and go to sleep - even dream.
Pleo's sophisticated sensory system enables it to see, sense touch, and to detect objects. Equipped with a color camera, sound sensors, 2 infrared sensors, 14 motors, over 100 gears, 8 touch sensors, and an orientation sensor, Pleo is perhaps the most sophisticated toy robot developed.
Recreated from the physiology of a one-week old infant Camarasaurus, Pleo incorporates all the basic traits of autonomous life. Camarasaurus were born and raised in giant fern forests with evolved camouflage that allowed them to blend with their environment of ferns, moss and other foliage on the forest floor.
Each Pleo includes Companion's Guide, Training Leaf, Pleo Identity Card, NiMH Replaceable, Rechargeable Battery and AC Charger.
"We are excited to offer the unique and exciting Pleo to our store," said Susan Esayian, Store Manager.
